Saturday Project Update – Thanks, Happiness, and Being a Blogger in 2010

Before I get into the post, I first want to say that I hope all of you are having the best holiday of your life.
As I mentioned in my newsletter, this is a special year for me because I missed the 2008 holiday season when I was deployed to Afghanistan.
Being able to be home this year and spend time with my family is a remarkable feeling.
I’m also doing a lot of soul searching, which I generally do around the New Year.
BUT…this year is different because we’re approaching a new decade, which reminds me just how fast time is going.
10 years ago I would have never guessed that I’d be following the path that I am, but I couldn’t be happier for it. In just a little over a year’s time, I’ve created an online business that is going to carry me forward once I depart the military next year. This means no job and a chance to pursue more of the goals I’ve set for myself.
Being at the cusp of a new decade means that all of us have an extraordinary opportunity to start over again. I say all that time that I blew my 20’s, and my 30’s were my chance to be born again. If you’re not living the life that you want, I hope that you get a chance to do some of your own soul searching this holiday season, set some goals, and start planning your new future.
Even if you’re already doing well, December can be a great time to analyze the good, bad, and the ugly so that you can build on or improve your current situation.
There’s absolutely nothing like charging directly towards your goals, building momentum, and knocking them out like Mike Tyson.
Building an Online Business
One of the best ways to do that is by building an online business, which is what I try to teach you to do on this blog. The way I’ve done it is by building a platform from which I can sell my knowledge and expertise, but there are a lot of other ways you can do it.
However, no matter which route you choose, building an online platform is a necessity, which is why you need a blog of your own. The problem is that blogging in 2010 is much different than it was in 2001, and I expect it to continue to change dramatically over the next several years.
There are a lot of people that make it look easy, but for every Problogger or Chris Brogan, there are thousands of struggling bloggers, many of whom I’ve talked to.
Since I’d been there before, it bothered me to see people that were once so full of hope, be overwhelmed with frustration or exhaustion…never to get over the hump.
Although I can’t say for certain why this happens, I think I have a few ideas…which is why my friend Mike and I created a report that we think will help people find out what they’re doing wrong, and how they can fix it. It’s called…
2010 and Beyond – The Truth about Blogging in the Next Decade
It’s a free report, and it runs about 15 pages of easy reading material. It might be a quick read, but it’s full of information that could be crucial for those of you trying to build a business in 2010 and beyond.
If you have a few minutes to spare, I recommend that you grab a copy for yourself, and then pass this link along to your friends so that they can get in on the action. Pass it around to as many people as you want, and make sure to let me know what you think by submitting a comment below.
Oh yeah, one more thing! We’ve just opened up the contest over at Beyond Blogging, so make sure to get over there and check it out. We’re giving away some really cool prizes as part of the launch.
Let’s make 2010 an awesome year!
