It had to be said, especially in the wake of all the 3rd Tribe criticism and the defense that was roused against it. Yes, it’s true…there are problems in our industry, but that doesn’t mean you should throw out the baby with the bathwater. The problem that needs addressing, and it’s one that seems to be glossed over by both bloggers and their audiences, is that blogging about blogging has to go. It’s lame…pack it up.

Brilliance is a word that should stand for something. It should be used sparingly, to distinguish only those people or thoughts that deserve it.
Why then, do people abuse this word as if it’s nothing special? For example, read through a blog comment section and you’ll see a lot of “brilliant post!” The same is true on Twitter and YouTube.

I tend to think that there are certainly more similarities, than differences, when it comes to us bloggers. We are a unique group and we have what I call stereotypical attributes that are, for lack of a better word, exemplary. These attributes define our very personality and spirit. I must say that I am proud to be included in this lofty group of individuals whose main goal in life is to grow personally and improve their lot in life.
