Saturday Project Update – Endgame, JV’s, and Going All In

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about possibilities and opportunities, and as I revise and update my 5 year plan, I can’t help but spend time imagining what the future looks like. I’ve said it before that I believe blogging is more of a stepping stone than it is an endgame, and as such I’m working to establish my brand in a manner that gives me the flexibility to pursue outside projects without sacrificing my core.

Saturday Project Update – Guest Posts

It’s the day after Christmas, I’ve caught a bit of a cold, and I’m working hard to get Beyond Blogging ready for launch, so you’ll have to forgive me if I cut today’s post just a tad short. I can deal with a ton of work, I enjoy it in fact, but nothing sinks me like a stuffy nose and the sniffles.

Instead of adding a new post to the already large backlog of holiday content many of you are sorting through, I’d like to point you to a few guest posts that I had published this week. As I’ve said before, on this blog and several others…guest posting is one of the best things that you can do to recruit new eyeballs. Not only do you get a chance to reach a new audience, but you also get a quality backlink (the currency of the internet), a ton of social proof, and an opportunity to cover subjects in a way that’s different from your normal approach.

Saturday Project Update – Thanks, Happiness, and Being a Blogger in 2010

Before I get into the post, I first want to say that I hope all of you are having the best holiday of your life. As I mentioned in my newsletter, this is a special year for me because I missed the 2008 holiday season when I was deployed to Afghanistan. Being able to be home this year and spend time with my family is a remarkable feeling.

Recently, I was talking to some buddies at work about the upcoming release of a video game (as much as it pains me to admit, occasionally I break out the 12 year old inside, much to my wife’s dismay) and they mentioned that they were going out that night to get it.
