Paradoxically, the way you become a leader is by being a servant. Not "servant" as in "humiliated slave" but "servant" as "in service to others for the betterment of all."

I couldn't agree more. My guiding principal for well over 25 years now has been a saying I cribbed from a bible waaaay back "the one who serves sees for the many". It keeps me grounded. Now, I've get to get back to making the e-book version of the King James ...
  • Michael, this is the responsibility aspect of leadership that our Masters of the Universe have either forgotten, ignored, or deliberately sabotaged. To the detriment of the entire planet's economy.
  • You're absolutely right Michael, and that's what a lot of people miss when they're trying to build a blog before they build a business. The money is a side benefit of helping other people get what they want.
  • This has really got me thinking. Do we focus too much on the huge power of the internet? The fact that there are so many millions out there, and that if we can get just 1 or 2% of them, they will make us rich?

Maybe there's another direction coming through here.....
  • I think so Mike. I think most of our time is wasted. Not in the past, when there were fewer fellow bloggers than there were customers, but today, when almost everyone has something to say.

I don't have the answer for how to reach these people. I have a few ideas, but I'm willing to hear more.
