In the first few installments of this series, we talked about the importance of studying the professionals in your industry and keeping your eye out for good content and design. Although these are two essential pieces of the puzzle, they won’t complete the picture on their own. You’ll need more than just tools and resources on your way to greatness.

5 Things You Must Be to Dominate

Hungry – If you are not hungry; I mean if you are not thirsting like hell for the goals you’ve set out to accomplish, then you won’t make it. You’ve got to want it bad, I mean you have to absolutely taste it and feel it in every fiber of your being.
Passionate – If you are not firmly entrenched behind the ideas you embody (or try to), then you will fail. If you are not following your true path, then you are just faking it. Faking it works in some cases, but in the end you’ll either be miserable, or a tremendous failure. Don’t sacrifice your true work for money. Find what you are born to do and make it happen. Be passionate about it and show it.
Driven – If you are not willing to work late and get up early…make sacrifices and work hungry, thirsty, and tired…then you won’t make it. You have to want it so bad that you will not take no for an answer. When given the option to quit, you must be willing to push even harder.
Objective – Sure, the rest of the list gives you the motivation to succeed, but if you aren’t objective in your actions and results then you are bound to flutter out. You have to have a business mind and always find a way to improve your ROI. This means cutting loose ends, getting rid of failing enterprises, and knowing how to take criticism.
Crazy – Look, if you were normal you’d end up like everyone else. You’d be content with just your own little share of the pie. But you want more than that. Expand the Pie (thanks Chris) and do your thing regardless of what the critics have to say. Being normal is overrated.
