It's neither the business of your employer or those around you who can't or won't help you what you do in your spare time. Your employer wants your total dedication to their mission/vision, and typically there's no room for yours. Have had several employers tell me that I have to get any moonlighting of any kind "approved." What they don't know won't hurt 'em. Lesson learned.
